TRAVEL

HOW TO GET THERE

The closest airport to Forte dei Marmi is Pisa Airport (PSA) which is about a 30 minute drive to the town center. We highly recommend connecting any and all flights to Pisa and then taxiing to your Hotel. Once you are in Forte dei Marmi, you do not need a car to get around--bikes or walking is sufficient.

The next closest option is Florence Airport (FLR) which is about an hour drive. You will most likely need to rent a vehicle to drive to Forte dei Marmi or set up transport with the help of your hotel's concierge.

For those of you flying from SFO, there is a direct flight to Rome. You can either connect to Pisa/Florence airports or take a the train from Rome to Florence.

Flying into Milan is another option since most major airlines fly into either Malpensa or Linate. You can train to Florence from Milano or rent a car. The drive is approximately 2.5 hours but there are plenty of beautiful cities along the way if you intend on stopping.

Trains from major cities like Rome and Milan do not have direct routes to Forte dei Marmi. Instead, you will have to train to Florence (SMN) and transfer to a regional train to Viareggio (1.5hr ride).

We highly recommend booking flights as soon as possible.

WHERE TO STAY

If you'd like to get ahead on booking, a few of our favorite hotels are linked below.

The bride & groom will be staying at Hotel Byron and have a room block set aside under the name "Sangiacomo" - we recommend emailing Ambra (info@hotelbyron.net) to reserve a room here. There is also a subsidized block of rooms reserved at the Hotel Acapulco, which you can book online using promo code "SANGIACOMO" at checkout. This list barely scratches the surface on available hotels in Forte, so please feel free to stay wherever makes the most sense for you!

Our only recommendation is that you stay close to the city center as transportation will likely be coming and going from there.

(some of these hotels have not opened their online booking for next season, in that case please contact the hotel via phone or email to reserve your room)
